Isn’t it amazing to think about?
Everywhere, in every part of the world, at least within some reachable distance, there are laborers in the vineyard the Holy Spirit is working through to reach the nations with the love and eternal life of Jesus Christ! What a wonder! I’m humbled to have the Holy Spirit reveal this simple reality to me year over year and keep reminding me to find delight in this universal calling placed on all Jesus’ followers. It’s humbling to think that we truly are called to the highest calling a human could have, and it’s comforting to think that we are called to it TOGETHER and EVERYWHERE WE ARE!
What a treat to not have to wonder what our purpose is. No, really. Please don’t just pass this by, and I’m saying this to my own soul here. What a deep and sweet wonder that if we would just saturate ourselves in this reality, a lot of our struggle for contentment would calm down and we would actually grow in contentment (not complacency) and be more emboldened to step forward into our days with joy, courage, faith, hope, love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, tenderness, steadfast love, loving kindness, compassionate hearts, and the list goes on!
What a wonderful reality we have as Jesus’ followers that we stand in the light, looking at the cross, in wonder that He was slaughtered in our place, taking the death we deserved so that instead of a future judgment, a true eternal punishment, we have Heaven and the Host of Heaven Himself waiting for us there! We have God and all the saints as our family for eternity! What better use of our short days here on earth but to follow Jesus’ example and live lives full of sacrificial love.
God, I ask that we would hear your moment-by-moment promptings as Your kids, that we would be sensitive when You say YES or NO in any given situation, that it wouldn’t just be our consciences giving us that sense, but that we would be listening for the Holy Spirit’s promptings, and that we would take careful notes from the Word of God too, and apply Your Word, LORD. Please teach us to pray too, Jesus, not just in what we read in the Word but as we rely on the Spirit to bring to mind the needs of others, that we would step into serving others more often than we focus on meeting our wants. Forgive us for being want over need focused quite often, especially in this day when wants can be scratched so-to-speak so quick and so often. Lean us into the Spirit’s promptings for Your glory, God! Father God, You are holy and we are in awe of the reality that we get to be the sons and daughters of the King of kings and Lord of lords in this life because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ! Thank You, Father, Son, and Spirit for this life-transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ! Reach the lost and found alike with a fresh in-filling of the goodness of God in their life TODAY for Your glory, and bring many THROUGH US to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ TODAY!
In Jesus’ awesome name, Amen!
Dear friends, love you so much! Sorry for not writing here as often. Having two littles has led to less writing for a season.
In God’s joy!T

P.S. This is my most recent favorite photo I’ve taken. My vision is to start posting my photography (scenery side of things) here for each post. I’m shooting (pun intended) to start with scenery for practice / coffee table books maybe and then work into portrait work and eventually weddings too. Fun!
