As I read in Hebrews 2 and 3 this morning in preparation for our men’s time together at Revive Cafe in Tuolumne City, I was really hit hard by the reality that Christ became flesh and by His blood made us blood-related family. As we respond to this, I wonder what it would look like for us to daily follow our Savior as far as coming alongside one another and those we encounter in our lives. What would it look like to get into the trenches of the day-to-day lives of those we encounter? What would it look like for us to be God’s tools to incarnate Jesus Christ again and again through our apprenticeship and discipleship under our Savior?
That’s all I have for today. I want to keep it simple, because this is a hugely important question to chew on for each of us. As we do this, we will experience more and more intimate senses of what real love looks like, what our Savior has done for us. Let’s slow our views on seeing if we know more than others about God and His ways and speed up our views on wanting to experience God’s ways by following His calling on the believer’s life to be Christ’s follower. Let’s study our Savior’s way of showing love and imitate Him in how we show love, and we will change by degrees in this imitation of Christ.
Grateful for you, friends,
– Torrey
