Love Poured Out

Romans 5:5 has been beating me up in a good way.

During my devotions, God has given me the idea to write out the passages that impact me most and date them on a sticky to place in an area of our house… I’m keeping about three of these sticky notes available at a time for us to chew on as a couple as we go about our days.  This passage has stayed in that row for a while now since 2/18/16 when I wrote it out.

“…hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.” – Romans 5:5

Oh that we as God’s children would be so filled with His love and so aware of His love that we can’t help but to be poured out time and time again, pouring God’s love into one anothers’ lives and into the lives of the lost.

This is not a long or complex post on purpose.  This meditation is overwhelming, quite literally, the more I meditate on it!  God’s love is so huge and awesome!

In the midst of meditating on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how God became flesh and dwelt among us, died in our place, and now pleads our mercy at the Father’s throne in Heaven, my soul wells up with the Holy Spirit’s joy and I am broken to the point of being of some use.  The Holy Spirit works in us to will and to work for God’s good pleasure, friends (Phil 2:12-13).  May we RUN in His joy and fell His good pleasure more today as we demonstrate GOD’S LOVE to one another and to the lost, and as we do this may we realize an ever-growing love above all for our perfect One God in Trinity.

In His love,

– Torrey
