God’s Spirit works in us to will and to work for His good pleasure (Phil 2:13). As I read in Genesis 24 this morning, I was caught off guard by the way Abraham’s faithful servant and probably one of his closest friends was so careful in his effort to properly identify Rebekah as Isaac’s new bride. This timeless story was for me a reminder that God works in the forming of the family of God. He doesn’t just sit passively by and hope it all works out okay. He is consistently in our midst and brings us into proximity with one another through the story of Jesus’ death for us. We’re united by this Servant King, this Wounded Shepherd, this Lamb of God slain for us to make us family forever.
We gather in awe of this awesome Savior and join to worship and obey this Savior, being literally His disciples in this life and children forever!
Enjoy your week, friends.
