Here is a powerful word for a believer in Jesus Christ to prayerfully take serious: FOLLOW.  What does it look like for us to truly FOLLOW JESUS?

“Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.  If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will my servant be also.  If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.” – John 12:25-26

Following Jesus Christ is no small little heart-level feeling or leaning…  It requires our ALL-IN heart throbbing commitment to the Living God Who will never abandon His own.  Yet, on the other hand, our faith needs but to be the faith of a mustard seed.

Oh God, teach us to follow You with FULL commitment and yet to trust You with our souls when we’re feeling the most weak.  Please give us courage to stand and be the people of God You have called us to be.  Give us hope in CHRIST alone and not in our ability to fulfill on Your promises to the weak and poor and destitute.  We will always let these friends down, when we are striving in our own strength.  Please remind us to step out in faith that YOU will show up as we show love to the least of these, those who feel and believe they are too low to be reached.  May we SHOW HOPE DAY-IN and DAY-OUT in our communities as the people of God.

LORD, in this way, we pray we might increasingly demonstrate the joy of FOLLOWING YOU.  In Your name and character, Jesus, we pray this all.  Amen.
